Going Through Tough Times

Throughout this life, our life, our walk upon this earth, we go through moments of difficulty. Moments of pain. Places of pain remind us of what we go through. I think later on I would like to write about the difference (which there is) between trials and just times when it is difficult. Life, thank God, is not meant to be idyllic, not all pain is for growth, necessarily, but when things become tough, it is important to know just to whom to go to and what to say. What to keep in mind and what to let go of. I struggle when I go through tough times. Most tough times can be overcome, but there come those once in a blue that are just difficult to press through. People always say "When it rains it pours" when referring to pain, well I would like to add to that the words of Jesus according to the Gospel of Matthew "For God gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and God sends rain on the just and the unjust alike." So what we are informed is that we all go through tough times, we all have difficult moments and we just have to know that. Let that not discourage us, if we are new in the faith or strengthening our faith, let us boldly face these days, these times and let us not be intimidated, let us remember what the writer of Hebrews says:

But we are not among those who shrink back and thus perish, but are among those who have faith and preserve their souls.

Let us also sing that blessed Hymn, that reminds us of her refrain that "All shall be well"

In you, father all-mighty, we have our preservation and our bliss.

In you, christ, we have our restoring and our saving.

You are our mother, brother, and savior.

In you, our lord the holy spirit, is marvelous and plenteous grace.

You are our clothing; for love you wrap us and embrace us.

You are our maker, our lover, our keeper.

Teach us to believe that by your grace all shall be well,

And all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well. Amen

Let us never be discouraged by whatever tough times we face, but let us recognize that it is a part of life (any life) whether Christian or not. But now that we are "In Christ" let us say with blessed assurance that all is well and all shall be well and all will always be well with our souls. We will always face tough times, we will face hard times and our answer is not to avoid them, we need to face them and confidently say (even when we don't believe) that all will be well.
